MANAMA: The General Organization for Youths and Sports (GOYS) President Hisham Mohammed Al-Jowder stressed the significant role undertaken by Rashid Equestrians Club in boosting and developing the equestrian and endurance racing sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Al-Jowder added that this sport has a deep-rooted national history and forms part of Bahrain’s ancient heritage and is in harmony with the directives of the Kingdom’s Top Knight His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa who has always supported the preservation of Bahrain’s genuine national sports.
He praised the role of the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youths and Sports (SCYS) and President of the Bahrain Olympics Committee (BOC) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and constant efforts of in supporting horsemanship in the Kingdom and contributions to attaining the highest levels.
He also said that observers who follow the competitions organized by the Rashid Equestrians and Endurance Club are well aware of the huge amount of continuous work undertaken by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Chairman of the High Board of Rashid Equestrians Club and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa the Deputy Chairman of the Club’s High Board in developing this sport and ushering it into highest levels, praising the role of stable owners in enriching equestrians competitions in the Kingdom.
GOYS President expressed his delight towards constant cooperation between GOYS and the Rashid Club aimed to enhance the sport and reach highest standards in the sport, and also praised the role of the club in organizing equestrian sports events over many past years.
GCC’s Assistant Secretary General for Human and Environment Affairs Dr. Abdullah Al Hashim affirmed GCC’s pioneering in all that pertains to the Gulf’s youth and unifying their joint efforts, in line with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s call for moving from a phase of co-operation to that of full-fledged union throughout the GCC.
He stressed the importance of the recommendations of the 2nd consultative meeting to serve turning exerted and estimated efforts by the officials of GCC youth and sports bodies into reality in order to support the Gulf’s youth ambitions for the prosperity of the Gulf nations.
He confirmed that the responsibility placed in the hands of GCC’s youth and sports officials receives support from GCC leaders.
Meeting’s agenda included a brief about the decisions of the Supreme Council of GCC’s leaders 34th summit which was held in Kuwait about supporting youth, as well as the committees’ recommendations, action plan of joint programmess between Jordan, Morocco and Yemen, framework of activities and events, choose the countries in which GCC’s youth will meet their peers from countries around the world, the social networking site of the joint youth committee of the GCC member states and developed programmes that have been approved in the 27th meeting and the recommendations of the Leaders Training Committee. As well as the plans of technical committees, work plan of the Youth Committee in 2014 and an action plan for the Leaders Training Committee for 2015.
Youth and Sports Welfare in UAE general secretary Ibrahim Abdulmalik, Youth Affairs Undersecretary in Saudi Arabia Mohammed Al Qarnas, Sports Affairs Ministry Undersecretary in Oman Shaikh Rashad Al Hinai, Director of the youth activities and events department Abdul Rahman Al Hajri were present.
