In line with promoting the growth and development of Bahraini entrepreneurs’ micro, small and medium enterprises, Tamkeen and UNIDO through its Arab International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Investment (AICEI) organised the first specialised workshop on Developing a Strong Brand Identity.
Suha Atalla, an international expert and managing director of Liban Pack, conducted the workshop which focused on the means of building and developing a new brand identity; importance of packaging as a marketing tool and the components of a successful brand.
The organisation of this joint workshop between AICEI and Tamkeen is the outcome of the agreement to launch the “24 Entrepreneurship Workshops Programme”, and it’s the first in a series of 24 workshops, which aim at encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation among Bahrainis. Furthermore, it entails providing practical services for the growth and development of Bahraini enterprises, a core objective which both AICEI and Tamkeen strive to achieve.
Dr. Hashim Hussein, Head of UNIDO office in Bahrain, praised the cooperation with Tamkeen and stressed the importance of developing a Brand identity in attaining growth and accessing international markets. Furthermore; Dr. Hashim emphasised that is the first workshop of a series of specialised technical workshops on branding with the ultimate goal of retaining this knowledge in Bahrain through the various consultancy firms.
“Through this workshop and others similar to it, Tamkeen aims at enhancing the know-how and experience of participating Bahraini entrepreneurs to help them develop skills that would enhance their careers, ultimately improving their prospective businesses,” Tamkeen’s Vice President for Human Capital Development Amal Al Kooheji, said.
“Tamkeen’s Human Capital Development initiatives and projects have been designed to address challenges in the labour market and to put forward solutions to improve the employability and career progression of the Bahraini citizen in the private sector with a vision to transform Bahraini citizens into employees of choice.”
