MANAMA: Bahrain’s Police Chief on Wednesday announced the arrest of four alleged perpetrators allegedly behind the Daih terror blast which killed three policemen.
Bahrain’s law enforcing agencies had apprehended 25 suspects as part of major manhunt in the country after the police officials in the line of the duty brutally martyred in bomb blast in Daih village.
“The arrested suspects include the convicted terrorists who had been at large,” Public Security Chief Major-General Tariq Hassan Al-Hassan during a late evening press conference held at Police Officers Club told reporters.
The suspects are Abbas Jameel Taher Mohammed Al-Samea (aged 25 – sentenced to five years in terror cases), Ali Jameel Taher Mohammed Al-Samea (aged 24 – sentenced to five years in jail in terror cases), Taher Yusuf Ahmed Mohammed Al-Samea (aged 22 years).
“The arrested suspects’ possible involvement in any other crimes and motives behind Daih village terror attack were being investigated by the Public Prosecution,” he added.
As the nationwide manhunt was ongoing, the perpetrators have been identified and identities have been established through the CCTV footage.
“Four bombers suspected of involvement in the terrorist blast which left three on-duty policemen dead last Monday in Daih have been arrested,” Police Chief said, adding that the security forces identified the suspects, a few hours after the terrorist blast and caught them under an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution.
Major-General Tariq Hassan Al-Hassan announced that the fourth Sami Mirza Ahmed Mushaima (aged 40), had also been arrested today. The security forces have launched a manhunt to track down the other accomplices involved in the Daih terror blast and bring them to justice. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior announced resolve to continue undertaking all security and legal measures to protect citizens and residents as well as public and private properties.
