MANAMA: Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and President of Bahrain Olympic
Committee (BOC) HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa approved the general policies recommended by the council members, which aims at implementing the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to improve and develop the youth and sports sector.
During SCYS meeting in Bahrain National Stadium, HH Shaikh Nasser praised the council members for their endeavors to apply the developing visions of His Majesty the King to achieve an integrative system of youth and sports in the kingdom.
SCYS Chairman hailed the Wise Leadership for their endless support to Bahraini athletes, aiming to encourage them to achieve more successes for the kingdom in international sport arenas.
“We have gained various international achievements thanks to the generous auspicious of His Majesty the King, who is always keen on providing the perfect environment to develop Bahraini sports,” HH Shaikh Nasser, said.
He also pointed that the Government has granted local athletes with the necessary support and facilities to develop their skills and excel in local, regional and international sport events.
Members of the council were also praised by SCYS Chairman for their efforts to improve local sports by focusing on sustainability, competitiveness, social integration and administrative excellence.
HH Shaikh Nasser also directed to embrace and develop new talents by establishing specialised training institutions, which meet the terms of international athletic standards. He insisted on spreading more awareness about sports culture for women and to invest in their athletic talents.
Children and persons with disabilities were also highlighted by SCYS Chairman, who called for focusing on developing their athletic abilities, by allocating specialised centres to improve their talents and to integrate them in the sports organisation.
SCYS General Secretary Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa praised the continuous directives of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, affirming that his support is a major motivation to athletes and sports officials to gain more achievements for the kingdom.
