MANAMA: Just after two days of deadly attacks on security forces, the authorities are investigating two cases in which two young kids were got hurt as the explosives went off in their hands.
“We don’t have details on the incidents of blasts but according to initial information two kids, both of them aged 10 and 11, were being asked to plant the bomb but the explosive went off and his right arm was badly hurt,” Bahrain’s Public Security Chief, Major-General Tariq Hassan Al-Hassan confirmed while asked about the incidents.
In a statement, the General Director of Northern Governorate Police announced that the operations room received two calls from Bahrain International Hospital and Salmaniya Medical Hospital after they received two injured children, age 10 and 11.
The General Director stated that a group of older men told the two children to carry the bomb down the road where they were instructed to plant it at a specific location. The device exploded while the 11 year old was carrying it, causing serious injury. The General Director added that investigators were called to the scene where they collected forensic evidence and began an inquiry to identify and arrest the suspects. The Public Prosecution was notified.
