MANAMA: Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Capital Governorate Mohammed Salah said that the Public Prosecution was notified of a fire that had broken out Friday at a building used as workers’ accommodation, killing three Asian nationals whose identities are being identified.
He added that the Public Prosecution inspected the two-storey building, and found out that it was neither sufficient, nor safe for the 130 Asians living in it.
He pointed out that the Public Prosecution had appointed a forensic doctor to examine the bodies of the deceased and identify the cause of their death.
It had also requested the crime scene, civil defence and safety experts and specialists from the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry to inspect the building and submit detailed reports on the circumstances of the fire and those behind it, he also said.
He stressed that the Public Prosecution is still investigating the incident in order to identify the causes of the fire and the main suspects, be it those involved in it directly or their partners, even through negligence, in order to bring them to justice for exploiting the social conditions of those workers and cramming them in building that lack all requirements of safety.
