MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan are set to sign strategic agreements in energy, food security, water and air transport sectors.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s visit to brotherly Islamic Republic of Pakistan will open a new era of co-operation in all vital areas of common interest.
The survey conducted by The24X7News (www.twentyfoursevennews.com) revealed that over 100,000 Pakistan Diaspora living in the Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the HM King of Bahrain’s visit to Pakistan and said that such high-level contact between the two sides will help further bolstering the ties between the two fraternal countries.
The Bahrain Cabinet ratified the signing of agreements between Bahrain and Pakistan during the visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his accompanying delegation to Islamabad later this week.
The cabinet also endorsed two memoranda of understanding to be signed between Bahrain and Pakistan on cooperation in the fields of energy, water and food security.
Bahrain-Pakistan is also to sign a new air transport agreement replacing the 39 years old pact signed by both brotherly nations.
Last week, Bahrain Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Transportation on signing a new air transport agreement with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
This agreement covers all the developments in the global air transport industry, particularly with regard to the safety and security of civil aviation, security of travel documents and cooperation between the airlines of both countries.
The new agreement will replace the current agreement signed between the two countries on February 17, 1975.
Pakistan community which considers Bahrain as second home said Pakistan historically enjoys friendly and brotherly relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain which have grown stronger over the years.
The close people to people contacts and inter government interactions have been growing in strength over the years. Both countries share common perceptions, ideas and the objectives of promoting peace and development and regional security, both in the Gulf as also in South and South-West Asia. Both countries share similar views on a number of regional and international issues.
The upcoming and much awaited visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will further strengthened bonds of friendship and brotherhood, based on mutual goodwill, commonality of interest, shared traditions and a common Islamic heritage, are destined to grow stronger in the years ahead to the mutual benefit of our peoples.
Pakistan Diaspora has been significantly contributing to the development in Bahrain, both in public and private sectors since the establishment of diplomatic ties many decades ago.
Bahrain-Pakistan also enjoys exceptionally good ties in the fields of security and defence and both sides continuously review these ties on regular basis.
In September last year, National Guard Chief Lieutenant-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al-Khalifa held talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and conveyed greetings from the wise leadership to the Government and people of Pakistan as well as wishes of further progress and prosperity.
During the meeting both sides discussed bilateral cooperation and steadily-growing relations, particularly in the economic, investment and defence sectors.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif described Pakistan and Bahrain as allies in maintaining regional peace and combating terror and extremism.
