MANAMA: The GCC countries condemned in the strongest terms the terror blast which happened in Bahrain last Monday, killing three policemen, including one from the UAE, and injuring many others.
They categorically stressed that Bahrain’s security is part and parcel of the GCC one and any threat to Bahrain is a threat to all the GCC countries.
This came in a letter sent to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon by Kuwaiti Permanent Representative to the UN Mansoor Ayad Al-Atibi, on behalf of members of the six GCC countries.
Ambassador Al-Atibi underlined the GCC rejection of all forms of terrorism targeting Bahrain’s stability and security and reiterated solidarity with Bahrain in facing terrorism and “blind violence”.
All ambassadors of the GCC countries signed the letter which was submitted by Ambassador Al-Atibi, being the President of the Gulf Cooperation Council in 2014.
Ambassador Al-Atibi paid tribute to the GCC policemen and policewomen for their efforts and invaluable sacrifice to ensure stability in Bahrain and the whole region.
He also lauded the UN Secretary General’s statement on the day of the blast in which he condemned the terror attack, stressing that such acts of violence are unjustified under any circumstances.
