MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain on Tuesday vowed a stern action against terrorist outfits engaged in fanning terrorism and hatred in the country.
The council of Ministers which met in an extraordinary session labeled the so-called February 14 Coalition, Ashtar Brigades and Resistance Brigades, and any other groups related or allied with them, as terrorist groups, and decided to take the necessary legal procedures in order to dissolve them and arrest their members.
The Foreign Affairs Minister was also requested to put the above mentioned groups and their allies in international lists of terrorism.
The cabinet requested the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments to take legal action against political associations, religious platforms and orators who resort to hatred and sectarian discourse and incite violence, and ensure that political societies and religious pulpits emphasise the sanctity of human life, prohibit the terrorist groups listed above openly through not providing any political or religious cover for them or for those who is linked to them or deal with them, and call for the need to abide by the law.
The cabinet called upon all to bear national responsibilities and not side with groups of terrorists and vandals which will be dealt with according to the law.
The cabinet stressed that the government will not hesitate to take any measures that it deems necessary to eradicate terrorist groups or those who support them and provide a haven for them.
In a related context, the cabinet lauded the stances voiced by GCC, brotherly and friendly countries in support of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its measures to deal with terrorism.
The cabinet offered sincere condolences to the UAE President, government and people on the martyrdom of First-Lieutenant Tariq Mohammed Al-Shihhi.
The Cabinet also extended condolences to the families of martyrs of duty Ammar Abdulrahman Ali and Mohammed Arsalan.
The cabinet urged all civil society organisations, community leaders and national organisations to assume their patriotic responsibilities and denounce violence, terrorism and hatred openly and firmly.
