MANAMA: Bahrain has every right to ward off evil and attempts to undermine its security and stability, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said.
“We will never compromise our stability and security, and we will face saboteurs, terrorists and plotters in order to protect the homeland from their evil actions,” he stressed, noting that “Bahrain is safeguarded by the wisdom of its Monarch and the patriotic stances of its people.”
“Our pacifist people are right holders, while terrorists transgress against the rights of others through undermining national gains, and therefore, need to be faced firmly with the law, and in accordance with its provisions,” he added.
“We are the first to ensure the citizens their rights to freedom, democracy and decent living, and we are well informed about our duties towards our citizens before anyone could request them,” he said.
He emphasised that those who “accepted to be used by foreign sides as tools of destruction against their homeland have no goal but subvert national security and stability and replace them with chaos, and achieve the agendas of those who want us to live in a state of instability.”
He added that terrorism had no religion or sect, adding that those who accept to take orders from sides seeking to harm their country will be faced by patriotic stances that deter them and restore their conscience.
He pledged that the government’s efforts to fight terrorism would continue unabated, out of its conviction that enforcing the law is the best way to put an end to violence and anarchy.
HRH Premier pointed out that the government would adopt some measures to ensure that some privileges were not exploited to harm the state’s interests and violate laws and regulations.
“What hurts me most is that those misguided citizens destroy their own neighbourhoods with their own hands, and impede the development process aiming primarily to meet their needs, which poses many questions on their real,” he said.
This came as HRH received at his Majlis at the Gudaibiya Palace scores of citizens, led by clerics, businessmen, intellectuals and press and media figures.
HRH Premier said that the uncovering of the dangerous plot aimed at Bahrain and the whole region required “unifying stances to take measures to put an end to that plot.”
He stressed that Bahrain has always thwarted evil plots through the patriotic stances of its people, noting that Bahrain’s history is full of milestone honourable stances that have fortified it against serious dangers that the mightiest armies could never have been able to drive away.
HRH Premier requested all those present to express their opinions on all national issues openly and freely, highlighting his distinguished relations with the citizens and keenness on accepting their views open-heartedly.
“The citizen is the essence of the government’s work and an index through which it measures the efficiency and success of its plans and programmes,” he said.
He underlined that GCC countries have developed thanks to their citizens’ efforts and national resources.
He urged peoples of the region to protect those blessings and draw lessons from what is going on in other countries as a result of violence.
HRH Premier lauded the pivotal and crucial role played by Saudi Arabia at the Arab and global arenas, noting that Saudi Arabia’s regional and global policies give top priority to achieving the interests of Arab and Islamic countries.
