MANAMA: The Cabinet in its weekly meeting led by HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister praised His Majesty’s visit to Pakistan emphasizing the cooperation between the two countries and strengthening the relationship of the Kingdom with the East Asian Countries.
The Official Government Spokesperson and State Minister for Information Affairs Sameera Rajab told reporters during weekly post Cabinet meeting briefing that HRH commended the visit of the Tunisian Prime Minister and his esteemed delegation to the Kingdom of Bahrain and other GCC countries.
HRH welcomed the mutual openness between the two countries and the importance of cooperation amongst Arab countries.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, President of the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs concerning the draft law on the exchange and protection of tax information.
The aim of this draft law is to strengthen the legislation in order to ensure exchange of tax information and personal data with other countries and sovereign entities with which the Kingdom of Bahrain signed Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEAs), in accordance with the established international standards in this regard.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, President of the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs on the accession of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Conventions, namely;
International Convention for Safe Containers (CSC) for the year 1972 and its Amendments.
The accession aims to harmonize national legislation with international laws, as well as to keep pace with the progress in the field of maritime navigation, which would attract investments in this sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, President of the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs concerning the draft law on the ratification of the Convention between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of Hungary on the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and the Protocol annexed thereto.
The Cabinet discussed the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Shura Council and Parliament Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training (QAAET) on the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training (QAAET) in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation of the Sultanate of Oman.
The MoU aims to exchange expertise and support accreditation procedures between the two parties, as well as to organize joint events, training and development and capacity building.
The Cabinet decided to refer the memorandum to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs for further review.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Minister of Shura Council and Parliament Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training (QAAET) on the report concerning the review and evaluation of educational and training programs.
These periodic reviews aim to develop learning and training outcomes in the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as attempting to rectify the shortcomings found in education and training institutions in order to improve performance.
