MANAMA: Industry and Commerce Minister confirmed government continuous support to industrial and commercial institutions that based the Kingdom headquarters for operations in the Middle East.
This came during the Minister visit and a number of Ministry’s officials to JBF Company that is specialized in polyester films, a project that was signed during His Majesty the King’s visit to India and its production will be expanded soon. JBF General Manager U Chandra Mouli and a number of company’s officials received the Minister.
U Chandra Mouli briefed the Minister on the factory mechanisms and production activities in addition to future plans and company’s objectives, noting that the company enjoyed a distinctive international reputation and has clients from all over the world. The company chooses Bahrain due to appropriate investment environment and soft procedures and facilities.
The minister stressed government’s support to industrial and investment sector in the Kingdom and provide the required support which contributes to develop institutions’ performance.
U. Chandra Mouli thanked and appreciated the government and the Ministry for their support and facilities granted to factories in Bahrain.
JBF was established in 1982 in Mumbai by Bhagirath Arya and is a major manufacturer of Polyester Film and Yarns. The company went public in 1986. Today the company has a global presence and supports customers in 100 countries. In 2011 the company selected the Bahrain International Investment Park for its new Bopet film manufacturing plant. The factory was built in record time and the company commenced manufacturing in the Bahrain International Investment Park in the 4th quarter of 2013. The new plant is built on a 65,000 square meters site and the total investment is $200million.
Employment has already reached 260 and at full production the plant will employ over 300 people. The major market for the finished product is the USA. The Bahrain USA Free Trade Agreement was one of the key reasons that encouraged JBF to establish its manufacturing plant in Bahrain.
