The IISS-Middle East (IISS-ME) is a leading convener in the region bringing together world-class experts, statesmen and decision makers at their headquarters in Bahrain. The speakers hosted at the Arundel Room in the IISS-Middle East headquarters yesterday evening included Hameed Rahma, Assistant Undersecretary for Domestic Trade at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce; Mohammed E. Dito, Policies Advisor to the CEO at the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA); Dr Subhadra Ganguli, Head of the Centre for Banking at BIBF and Dr Jarmo T. Kotilaine, Chief Economist at the EDB.
Senior EDB officials hailed the continued cooperation between the IISS and the EDB as the IISS-ME headquarters in Bahrain continues to serve as a centre for geo-political scholarship and a platform for informed debate on security and economic challenges in the region. Currently, the IISS-ME is making preparations to mark the tenth anniversary of the IISS Manama Dialogue, which will convene in December, and endures to strengthen its research agenda to inform and facilitate this continuing process of security diplomacy.
