MANAMA: Bahrain Bourse and the Saudi Stock Exchange, Tadawul, during a meeting on Wednesday discuss the ways and means to bolster the co-operation between the stock exchanges of the two countries.
The meeting was in line with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed between BHB and Tadawul in November last year.
Both sides discussed several topics of mutual interest such as electronic disclosure, Murabaha in stocks, the exchange of information concerning share prices and indices, joint training programs for employees, and cross-listings between both markets, along with other topics of mutual interest.
Both sides agreed on forming committees for each project and an action plan was put in place to implement the agreed joint projects.
The MoU aims at enhancing the cooperation between the two exchanges and set a solid foundation to benefit both markets. It also seeks to offer more investment opportunities for investors, benefit from the experience of both exchanges, develop both markets’ administrative capabilities and explores new opportunities relating to the development of capital markets in both countries.
