MANAMA: The Cabinet on Sunday ratified two key agreements with Government of Pakistan streamlining the flow of trade and investments between the two countries as well as enhancing co-operation in air services sectors.
Speaking during the weekly post-cabinet meeting press briefing, the Minister of State for Information Affairs and the Official Spokesperson of the Government Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab said that the Cabinet had also ratified Air Services Agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
This was the culmination of the historic and 1st visit of His Majesty King Hamad to Pakistan which helped both sides to identify the key areas of co-operation between the two brother States.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, President of the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs, on the draft law ratifying the Agreement on Encouragement and Reciprocal Protection of Investments between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The Agreement aims to create a proper environment that would encourage greater reciprocal economic cooperation, particularly in the areas of investment made by the investors of both countries.
The Cabinet discussed and approved the memorandum presented by His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, President of the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs, concerning the Draft Law ratifying the Air Services Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The Agreement aims to regulate air transport services between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in line with the latest developments in international air transport industry, particularly regarding civil aviation safety and security, the security of travel documents as well as the cooperation between the airlines of both countries. The new agreement will replace the previous one signed between the two countries on February, 1975.
