MANAMA: The annual general assembly of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has approved the financial statement and the annual report during a meeting on Thursday.
It may be noted that it was the first time in the history of the BCCI that the AGM was able to reach the quorum upon the first meeting notice itself, without adjourning the meeting for a second meeting, due to lack of quorum.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the board Khalid Abdulrahman Almoayed, presided over the meeting which held in accordance with Article (15) of the Decree Law No. (48) for the year 2012 about Bahrain Chamber Of Commerce and Industry, approved the annual report and the financials for the year 2013.
According to Article No (19) of the Chamber’s Decree Law, the AGM is valid if attended by 200 members or 10% of the number of the registered members, whichever is less. The meeting was attended by 227 members with a percentage of 4.4% out of the total number of eligible members who have the permission to attend.
All the registered members who paid their annual participation fees before 7 days from general assembly were eligible to attend the meeting and exercise their right to vote according to Article No. (14) of the Chamber’s Law.
