MANAMA: Police has confirmed two deaths in a car explosion on Saturday while one received second degree burn injuries and being treated .
The General Director of Northern Governorate Police confirmed that the operations room received a call on Saturday reporting the explosion of a car in Mughsha village. Police responded to the scene where they found a gutted car containing two charred bodies.
An injured person, the third occupant in the car at the time of the blast, was taken to a private hospital before being transferred to Salmaniya Medical complex. The Health Ministry reported that he sustained second degree burns in addition to other injuries.
The General Director said that the initial investigation indicated the blast had been caused by the detonation of a homemade bomb inside the car. The investigation continues and the Public Prosecution has been notified.
