WASHINGTON: The Conference discussed strategies for reinforcing security in the electronics virtual space and telecommunications sector by the establishment of cooperation and exchanges of expertise on information security policies and standards.
Minister of State for Telecommunications Affairs, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, took part in the Central Region Communications Conference (CRCC 2014), which was held in Washington DC.
A number of local and regional experts and officials reviewed important initiatives and tackled challenges faced by national security.
The Conference also discussed the legal, regulatory and political environment, standards and policies affect national e-strategies and the role of national institutions in the formation and support of security strategies in the telecommunications and information technology sector.
Cooperation, coordination and exchange of information and expertise among local governments and regional and international communities in this area were also debated.
Alongside Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammad Al Khalifa, GCC and Arab regional representatives and officials from the telecommunications and information technology sectors participated in the Conference.
Bahrain’s delegation comprised Ambassador of Bahrain to United States and the Telecommunications State Minister’s accompanying delegation.
