MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain and Spain announced plans to enhance tourism cooperation between Bahrain and Spain as the ministers from both sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa held talks with the Spanish Industry, Energy and Tourism Minister José Manuel Soria Lopez to activate tourism exchange and explore new bilateral areas of cooperation, following the official talks between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and the Spanish Monarch King Juan Carlos.
They discussed means of enhancing cooperation in the future, highlighting the importance of developing joint strategies to support the tourism in both countries.
They stressed the importance of activating the memorandum in order to consolidate tourism exchange between the two countries and boost investment in this field, noting that Bahrain has made landmark strides in this area by being chosen the Capital of Arab Tourism 2013 and Capital of Asian Tourism 2014.
Under the MoU, the two countries will exchange expertise and develop the exchange and rapprochement between them.
