As part of its Crisis and Emergency Response Plan (CERP), The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) has successfully conducted a major exercise at the Sitra Tanks on Wednesday 28 May 2014 in collaboration with the concerned authorities of the Kingdom.
The 12-hour exercise aimed at enhancing Bapco’s readiness in handling major incidents and bolstering its employees’ emergency response skills as part of the crisis and emergency response plan in Bapco.
The exercise involved a mock fire drill in which many trained groups were assigned to deal with the scenarios of the exercise at different levels (operational, tactical and strategic). Bapco’s successful completion of the CERP exercise is an indicator of the diligent efforts of all involved. Upon the successful completion of the drill, Bapco thanked all participants and concerned authorities for their valued cooperation and support which have contributed greatly to ensuring the desired success of this key exercise. The CERP exercise which was overseen by Emergency Planning College (EPC, UK) falls in line with Bapco’s strategy to maintain a robust emergency response plan, and maintain its commitment to Environment, Health, Safety (EHS) issues and to ensure uninterrupted and sustainable supply for the local and international markets as a headliner in the Kingdom’s energy sector.
