MANAMA: The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) discussed with the US Embassy here ways to consolidate the mechanisms of joint cooperation to optimise the private sector’s benefits of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed between the two friendly countries, and take advantage of US expertise to create economic partnerships in entrepreneurship.
This came as BCCI CEO Nabeel Abdulrahman Al Mahmoud held a meeting with the Economic Attaché at the US Embassy Rebecca Seweryn, in the presence of a number of BCCI officials.
Al-Mahmoud affirmed the importance of benefiting from the US entrepreneurs’ expertise, welcoming cooperation with the US Embassy in upgrading the skills and capabilities of Bahraini entrepreneurs through organising training programmes and workshops to be conducted by US experts.
He stressed the importance of the Bahraini companies’ presence in the US market in order to explore more promising investment opportunities, which will increase the volume of bilateral trade and therefore reflect positively on the kingdom’s economy.
Rebecca Seweryn said the USA and Bahrain could enhance their economic and investment relations through activating the FTA signed between them.
She lauded the solid ties bonding the governments of the two friendly countries, highlighting the importance of exchanging visits between specialised trade delegations to boost economic relations.
