Keeping in line with their ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Bahraini retail and commercial banking institution, BMI Bank has renewed their support to the Muharraq Social Welfare Center by donating an amount of BD 5000. Established in 1994 under the patronage of the Social Development Ministry, the Muharraq Social Welfare Center is dedicated to caring for the elderly people within the community and currently houses and cares for close to 50 elderly people from various parts of Bahrain. Eyad Sater General Manager Support Services at BMI BANK presented a cheque to Waleed Abdulla Al Zamil Chairman of the center at a ceremony held at the Bank’s headquarters at the Bahrain World Trade Center (WTC).
“As a responsible local Bank, we firmly believe that a strong and comprehensive CSR program is substantial to our long-term success and durability within Bahrain. At BMI Bank, our commitment to CSR is inbuilt into the very heart of our operations and corporate culture. As successful members of the community, we have a responsibility to help those who are less fortunate and in need of financial support and we feel grateful to be in a position to give back by supporting local communities. This feeling of contribution, connectedness and satisfaction is incomparable and makes everything worthwhile,” Handing over the cheque, Eyad Sater, said.
BMI Bank has donated over BD 80,000 in 2013 towards various local charities including annual commitments to the Al Sanabel Orphans Care Center, Royal Charity Organization, American Mission Hospital’s (AMH) Community Outreach Program, the Island Classic Charity Golf Tournament and Think Pink Bahrain, Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation and the Children & Mother’s Welfare Society amongst others.
