MANAMA: The Cabinet congratulated His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on being granted the Golden Award by the International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW International), the Secretary-General of Cabinet Dr. Yaser bin Essa Al-Nasser stated.
Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa extended, on behalf of members of the cabinet, sincere congratulations to HRH Premier for the international honour bestowed on him in appreciation of his milestone achievements in various fields, including his efforts to empower Bahraini women.
HRH Premier affirmed that any international appreciation of his efforts is an honouring for the Kingdom and a recognition of the achievements of its government and the dedication of its people, stressing that the award will increase his resolve to bring about more accomplishments for Bahrain and its people during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era, Dr. Al-Nasser said in a statement following Sunday’s regular weekly Cabinet meeting, chaired by HRH Premier at the Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet congratulated GCC leaders and peoples marking the 33rd anniversary of the bloc, stressing the need to move from the cooperation phase to a union one, in line with the initiative launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in order to preserve joint gains and optimise them.
The cabinet also welcomed the Kingdom’s hosting of the International Conference on the Arab Court for Human Rights, recalling with pride HM King Hamad’s initiative to establish the court.
It described the drafting of the by-law of the Arab Court for Human Rights as an important step to translate the Royal initiative into the ground.
In another context, HRH Premier directed the Ministry of Interior to take tough actions against drivers who violate traffic laws and engage in dangerous driving.
He also instructed the Interior and Works Ministries to speed up to speed up linking traffic signals electronically through optical fibre to reduce waiting time and ensure smooth traffic.
He ordered the Interior and Education ministries to develop tight precautionary traffic safety measures near schools in order to avoid the recurrence of regretful accidents.
On housing, the cabinet reviewed the executive steps of the projects implemented under the GCC Development Fund.
It urged to expedite the implementation of housing projects, hand over the ready ones to the beneficiaries, continue building new cities and develop new initiatives that reduce the number of applicants featuring in waiting lists.
