MANAMA: The global humanity is facing perhaps one of the biggest dilemmas of the history of mankind where materialism has virtually put a lid on the quest of enlightenment and illumination pushing the world’s future into a chaos and uncertainty, according to Prince Hassan bin Talal.
His Royal Highness Prince Hassan bin Talal, during the opening session of the Inter-faith dialogue which opened at the Gulf Hotel in Manama on Monday applauded the patronage of HM King for hosting such an important event in Bahrain.
Prince Hassan highlighted the role of enhanced dialogue in resolving international economic, social, cultural and humanitarian issues. He stressed that effective dialogue among nations is vital for securing peace that is based on shared ethics and values.
“Almost 100 years are on since the world war 1st broke out in 1914, then the 2nd world war, both wars which were purely European Civil Wars but the entire global community endured the price. In addition to the world wars the colonialism had also left a deep scar on the face of global humanity,” he said.
The Muslim, he said, a one third of the world’s population will be held accountable by their own conscious and Allah for not doing enough according to the guidelines of Allah and His Messenger Prophet Mohammed PBUH to bring a peace through the quest of knowledge, enlightenment and wisdom.
A major global three-day Conference titled ‘The Dialogue of Civilisations’ was opened under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa the Conference under the theme ‘civilisations in the service of humanity’.
The conference attracted 350 delegates from 83 nations are aimed at creating awareness of the power of dialogue to resolve differences.
Leading international organisations, foundations, think tanks and prominent intellectuals and scholars converge on Manama to attend the conference.
