MANAMA: Kims Bahrain Medical Centre (KIMS) unveiled a $110 million ambitious GCC wide expansion plan in health sector with over 50% earmarked for Bahrain market, according to a top official at the Company.
“We continue to invest in the healthcare sector to turn Bahrain into health tourism hub in the GCC,” Ahmed MA Jawahery, Chairman KIMS in an interview told The22X7News (www.twentyfoursevennews.com).
Jawahery, who announced the opening of state-of-the-art MRI Center, said that out of $110million 50% has been invested in Bahrain.
“We have been investing in health sector since the opening of the first KIMS branch in 2004 and we continue to explore opportunities to invest in all potential areas of health sector,” he added.”In line with its efforts to offer the best medical services to the community, Royal Bahrain Hospital (RBH) -a 60-bed, multi-specialty based in Salmaniya, Bahrain – is all set to launch its new specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Center,” he said.
The formal announcement of MRI Center was made during a Press conference on Tuesday by Mr Jawahery joined by Dr. Mohammed Sahadulla, Chairman of RBH, Jacob Thomas, Director of Operations at RBH and Walid Fadl, Regional Business Manager Siemens.
The RBH MRI Centre boasts a top of the line Siemens Magnetom Aera 1.5T at RBH and is a part of the hospital’s plans to provide the most efficient and advanced medical technology to its patients.
“The machine is capable of presenting clinical results within minutes, which will contribute to the diagnosis and screening of the ailments. In terms of the equipment, this is one of the most advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging devices in the 1.5 T range now available in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” Dr. Sahdulla said.
“The launch of the MRI machine reflects the keenness of the hospital to maintain the highest standards of quality. We intend to provide the very best services to our patients and the move is part of our quest to achieve the best medical standards,” Jawahery added.
“Our cooperation with Siemens to provide this machine of such high caliber and precision verifies our pursuit of providing world class medical care to our brothers and sisters. The company (Siemens) is a well-reputed player in the global biomedical equipment industry,” he said.
Thomas pointed out the importance of these medical devices in tests and medical diagnosis and he mentioned that RBH has managed to bring the best technology and the best MRI reporting under one roof by associating with some of the top radiologists in Bahrain.
