MANAMA: Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro confirmed government and ministry keenness to follow up all projects and economic achievements made between the Kingdom of Bahrain and China, which resulted in a visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
This came during chaired the 2nd meeting to follow-up the results of the visit made by HM the King to China in presence of Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom Mr. Li Chen and a number of representative of concerned government institutions to projects and joint agreements with the Chinese sides. He expressed Ministry keenness to follow the developments of the results of this historic visit.
The Minister pointed many Chinese projects that chose Bahrain to be the regional headquarters and to take advantages of features that the kingdom enjoyed as a strategic and convenient location ready to host major economic projects on its territory.
The Chinese Ambassador expressed his pleasure of the results of the visit of His Majesty the King to China, pointing the increase of exchange visits between businessmen and investors from both countries.
Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khalid Almoayed hailed the success of the visit that contributed in enhancing business and investment ties between the two countries.
Head of Villages Expansion and Housing Unit Renovation at the Housing Ministry, Ridha Al Adraj highlighted the last visit of Minister of Housing Engineer Bassim bin Yaqoub Al-Hammer that focused on cooperation of the construction of a number of residential complexes in Bahrain by Chinese companies.
The meeting reviewed joint projects and cooperation between the two sides, in which President of Dewani Holding Company, Abdulhussain Dewani said that he met a number of Chinese businessmen during the visit and he is now in the final stage of cooperation with some of them in food packaging, while Deputy Chairman of Abdullah Ahmed Bin Hindi Company, Ahmed Bin Hindi highlighted that the visit contributed in the company becoming an agent for two Chinese companies that manufacture elevators and tyres.
The visit was also fruitful to the Abdullah Ahmed Nass Company as its Chairman Sameer Abdullah Nass highlighted that his company managed to buy a huge number of construction equipments and machines and becoming an agent to many specialised Chinese construction companies. The company has been selected to construct the Dragon City in Bahrain.
Some other Bahraini businessmen and owners of companies also highlighted the benefits of the visit on their businesses.
The visit also benefited the Chinese side, as the Regional Director of Huawei Company, Fly Liuxiang highlighted that his company is working now with the e-Government Authority to develop the government network, telecommunication systems and informational technology.
