MANAMA: Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa on Tuesday held talks with a visiting Hong Kong delegation led by Bahrain’s Honorary Consul Dr Y C Chow and discussed with tourism and cultural promotion in Bahrain and Honk Kong.
The Minister commended the efforts of the consulate, which yielded a string of economic and tourism achievements in both Bahrain and Honk Kong. She stressed the importance of promoting Bahrain’s image as a tourism and cultural destination in China, especially as Manama is being celebrated as Capital of Asian Tourism 2014.
Honorary Consul Dr Y C Chow commended the cultural and tourism events hosted in Bahrain, hailing the ministry’s role in promoting the Kingdom’s millennia-old history and heritage. The two sides discussed ways of promoting Manama as Capital of Asian Tourism 2014 in the Chinese market. Bahrain will host a Chinese media delegation as part of efforts to keep them abreast of Bahrain’s culture, history and deep-rooted heritage.
