MANAMA: Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Khalid Al Moayed affirmed the importance of activating and enhancing the economic and investment relations between Bahrain and South Africa in all fields and trade sectors, calling for the need to increase the volume of bilateral exchanged trade.
This came during a meeting between BCCI’s Chairman and the Riyadh-based South African Ambassador to Bahrain Mohammed Sadiq Jaffar, in the presence of BCCI’s Second Deputy Chairman Jawad Al Hawaj, BCCI CEO Nabeel Abdulrahman Al Mahmoud and a number of members at the administrative body.
Al Moayed expressed BCCI’s and the private sector’s interest in promoting the bilateral relations through activating the private sector in the two countries to develop bilateral investments, highlighting the importance of over-coming any obstacles facing the bilateral trade exchange and creating economic partnership.
The meeting addressed a number of recommendations and proposals aiming at bolstering and improving bilateral investment relations, which will be positively reflected on facilitating bilateral exchanged visits and signing joint cooperation agreements.
The South African Ambassador called on benefiting from the bilateral investment opportunities in order to develop the bilateral trade and establish joint projects between businessmen.
He underscored all the factors that would enhance the bilateral economic relations, pointing out South Africa’s economic sectors’ growth.
He invited the representatives of Bahrain’s economic sectors to invest in South Africa as a preliminary step for major joint investment projects, expressing the Embassy’s readiness to support these efforts so as to strengthen the bilateral economic and investment relations.
