MANAMA: With the investment climate is improving, the debt market in Bahrain is picking up and likely to see 8% to 10% in 2014, according to an expert.
“The Saudi, UAE and Qatari debt markets are likely to witness 12% to 14%, 8% to 10% and 12% to 14% respectively,” Chiradeep Ghosh, a senior research analyst at the Bahrain-based regional investment bank, Securities & Investment Company (SICO) told reporters on Tuesday.
“The liquidity is there and the project financing in the pipeline will fuel the debt financing in Bahrain,” Ghosh, told The24X7News (www.twentyfoursevennews.com) on the sidelines of the Bahrain Association of Banks’ monthly luncheon meeting.
Replying to a question he said that the banks and financial institutions in Bahrain were gearing up towards offering more loans after a lull and hope this would reflect positively on the economic growth of the Kingdom.
Earlier Ghosh in his presentation titled ‘buy, hold or sell? How analysts really rate banks’ highlighted basic fundamentals of the banking sector across the Gulf.
He discussed in detail about the evaluating of the market price of banking institutions will be analysed and discussed.
His presentation revealed what matters most to equity research analysts when they evaluate financial institutions. Ghosh will take a special look at the critical parameters and ratios that interest analysts, in particular capital adequacy ratios and their impact on the profitability and risk profile of banks. The presentation followed by a live case study.
