MANAMA: Bahrain’s maritime and naval infrastructure is vital in connecting the Kingdom with the world and strengthening its economic base.
His Royal Highness, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, underscored the importance of continuing to develop the Kingdom’s naval and maritime sectors, which form a central part of Bahrain’s history as a gateway to the Gulf and the wider region.
HRH Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, speaking as HRH met at Gudaibiya Palace with Ministry of Transportation’s Undersecretary for Ports and Maritime Navigation, Hassan Ali Al-Majid.
His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of integration and coordination across international maritime and terrestrial transport centres in order to improve the movement of goods and services.
In order to achieve this, His Royal Highness called for the improvement of training programmes that would serve to develop the Kingdom’s logistics sector, and ensure greater involvement of the national workforce in developing vital areas of Bahrain’s economy.
His Royal Highness concluded by wishing the Undersecretary success in working to develop this sector.
The Undersecretary expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness, and emphasised his commitment to implementing strategies that establish optimum standards and strengthen Bahrain’s economic role.
The meeting was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, son of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
