MANAMA: The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) successfully completed the ISO 14001 audit (environmental compliance) by auditors Bureau Veritas without any non-conformity.
In the closing meeting the auditors congratulated Bapco on passing the 5th surveillance audit of the current certification cycle and highlighted the continuous improvement in all environmental aspects which is being driven by Bapco top Management to all levels in the organisation.
Bapco’s Deputy Chief Executive Refining and Marketing, and Environment, Health & Safety Committee EHSC Chairman, Ebrahim Talib expressed Bapco’s pride and commitment in the continued certification to EMS ISO 14001 and stated that external audits are an effective tool to identify improvements which can be made to our systems and thanked Bureau Veritas for their efforts in conducting the surveillance audit and highlighting areas where further improvements are required.
He also thanked all the participating departments especially Environmental Affairs, Oil Storage & Export, Oil Processing North, Oil Processing South, Fire Health & Safety and Shutdown & Major Maintenance in Bapco, hailing their vital role in fostering Bapco’s environment compliance with the objective of enhancing environment conservation in line with Bapco’s commitment to a “Caring Culture”.
