MANAMA: DHL Express, the world’s largest Express network, celebrated a major milestone when the company was named the ‘Best Employer’ in the Middle East and North Africa for 2014 by Aon Hewitt, the global talent, retirement and health solutions business of Aon plc. Renowned for its focus and commitment to its human resources, DHL Express MENA proudly received the auspicious award at an exclusive ceremony held at The One & Only Royal Mirage Hotel in Dubai.
The award was received by Mr. Henry Fares, Head of Human Resources, DHL Express Middle East and North Africa and was attended by over 200 industry leaders from across the region; including senior management from Aon Hewitt – the award creators – members of the judging panel, CEOs and HR specialists.
Launched over a decade ago, the ‘Best Employers Middle East Awards is the culmination of extensive studies conducted by Aon Hewitt that measure and compare employee engagement, performance and satisfaction across 500 participating organizations spanning cross industry in the Middle East region. This year, ten companies were shortlisted as Best Employers across MENA, with four DHL Express offices from around the region making it to the top five positions and securing top honours for DHL Express MENA as ‘Best Employer’ in the Middle East.

This year, Aon Hewitt collected and analyzed view points and data from a sample of 30,000 employees representing a 60,000-plus workforce as well as inputs from HR leaders and Business Heads from companies across the region spanning 18 industries. Following rigorous analysis and evaluation of the participating companies by an experienced panel of judges, DHL’s offices bagged five out of the ten Best Employer awards, placing DHL Express MENA in pole position as the Best Employer in the Middle East.
