The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) seeks to support Gulf industrial exports through a series of programs, especially after the surge in the value of GCC industrial exports to almost $115 billion in 2012, 12.6% of the total Gulf industrial exports including oil exports valued at $908 billion. Thus, GCC and Yemen’s support to this vital sector that influences the economy has become a highly necessary.
GOIC Secretary General Abdulaziz Bin Hamad Al-Ageel explained that GCC industrial exports increased from nearly $55 billion in 2008 to almost $115 billion in 2012 (from 8.6% of the total GCC industrial exports in 2008 to 12.6% in 2012 without including re-exported products). Al-Ageel announced that re-exported products were valued at $153.2 billion in 2012 and non-oil exports were worth $168 billion.
GOIC is holding the “Industrial Exports Promotion Workshop” at the Radisson Royal Hotel Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, UAE from the 22nd till the 24th of June 2014.
This workshop aims at raising awareness among participants regarding the best practices in the area of export management and promotion. It focuses on exchanging expertise, determining new methods of exports marketing, taking part in group discussions and identifying requirements to improve export promotion activities.
This workshop targets companies manufacturing export products, export services companies, exports support authorities within ministries of commerce and industry and governmental institutions, owners and managers of export houses, exports marketing companies, staff and executive directors of trade promotion agencies, exports development organisations, chambers of commerce and industry and bank employees working in the area of export programmes.
The workshop will discuss managerial duties in exports promotion agencies, executing exports marketing measures, exports marketing strategies and will present a case study about best practices in the area of export development and management of marketing activities. It will also tackle products and markets by studying products, companies and market prospects, product marketing programs and adapting, companies’ marketing plans, trade information services, external support and activities services such as taking part in trade exhibitions and seller’s message etc.
GOIC seeks to promote individual and organizational capacities of the industrial sector in GCC countries and Yemen through its Training and Capacity Development Program (TCD).
