MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain has taken major steps to keep away from the regional conflicts including the screening of funds and travellers to various destinations.
Public Security Chief, Major General Tariq Al-Hassan underling the steps which have been taken by the Interior Ministry said it would help in preventing Bahrainis from travelling to fight abroad and stop terrorists financing.
The steps include: Implementation of legal and supervisory procedures in cooperation with the Central Bank of Bahrain, Customs Affairs and the General Directorate of Anti-corruption, Economic and Electronic; statements were registered for some suspects to identify the destination of the remittances. In case the remittances were proven to be for charitable aid, they are informed of the legal procedures for such support; To check travelers who are traveling to countries where conflict zones are located and to take all legal procedures against any resident who is involved in supporting, inciting or participating in violence abroad by not renewing his resident permit and deporting the individual immediately.
He also warned of legal procedures will be taken against those who ignore the grace period previously announced by the Interior Ministry.
He underscored the Interior Ministry invitations to the public and all parents to watch over their children.
