MANAMA: Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa inaugurated the week-long National Campaign fundraising campaign, launched by RCO’s National Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People in Gaza, in cooperation with Bahrain TV.
Upon arrival at the Bahrain TV premises, Shaikh Nasser was welcomed by the Minister of State Information Affairs Dr. Sameera Ebrahim bin Rajab.
Shaikh Nasser extended sincere thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, RCO’s Honorary President, for his kind donation of USD 5 million to the brotherly Palestinians in Gaza, as well as constant keenness to support the needy and provide relief aid for disaster-stricken people in brotherly and friendly countries all over the world.
He said the campaign reflects the firm stances of the Bahraini leadership, government and people towards the “just” Palestinian cause and the desire of HM the King to provide help for the Palestinian people, out of the humanitarian ties and in affirmation of the solid fraternal ties bonding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Palestine.
He stressed that Bahrain stands by the brotherly Palestinian people in the current ordeal it is facing.
He highlighted RCO’s keen interest to provide support that builds the individual, develops the land and ensures sustainable benefits.
Shaikh Nasser urged massive participation in such a charitable and humanitarian work, given its positive impact on the person and society, calling upon institutions, companies, citizens and residents to contribute to such a noble humanitarian campaign aiming to support the Palestinians and alleviate their sufferings.
RCO’s Secretary-General and CEO of the National Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People in Gaza Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed praised HM the King’s kind donation to the Palestinians and honourable supportive stances towards the just Palestinian cause.
He expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad for his directives to set up the National Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People in Gaza for the aim of unifying efforts and providing support that alleviates the sufferings of the Palestinians as a result of the “atrocious” Israeli assault.
He thanked all donators for their kind contributions, affirming that preparations are in full swing to deliver humanitarian and relief aid to them as soon as possible.
