MANAMA: HM the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Saturday strongly denounced and rejected the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza, calling on the international community to assume responsibility to compel all parties to respect the international law, to immediately intervene to end the military operations in the region and to provide protection for the innocent Palestinian people.
HM underlined Bahrain’s support for the Egyptian initiative aims at halting the current Israel-Palestinian conflict.
This came as HM King at Sakhir Palace, received Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
HM the King welcomed the Palestinian delegation and hailed their efforts in serving the Palestinian cause.
Following reciting a number of verses of the holy Quran, HM the King addressed the audience, in which welcomed the Palestinian President and expressed delight in hosting the Ambassadors of the State of Palestine to Arab countries Conference that kicks off on Sunday in Bahrain and wished them success in reaching the desired goals and meeting the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
HM the King highlighted Bahrain’s support for Palestine and its people and the need to reach a just, comprehensive and durable solution for the Palestinian cause and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital, a full Israeli withdrawal from Arab territories occupied in 1967, an immediate halt to Israeli settlement activities, and the commitment to international legitimacy resolutions related to the Arab peace initiative.
Palestinian President, in his speech, lauded Bahrain’s supportive stances for the Palestinian cause in international forums.
He highlighted Palestinian efforts aim to stop the fighting taking place in Gaza, procuring full rights and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with East Jerusalem as its capital.
