MANAMA: Public Security Chief, Major General Tariq Al-Hassan, renewed the Interior Ministry’s warning to citizens about participating in fighting in regional or international conflicts, or joining extremist religious groups or providing financial and moral support to organizations that are locally, regionally and internationally classified as terrorist groups, which poses a threat to the security of Bahrain, which will not be tolerated under all circumstances.
Major General Al-Hassan said that a committee formed by Interior Minister in connection to situations in Syria and Iraq has been assigned to take legal steps against those who get involved in fighting abroad.
The Interior Ministry has summoned a number of individuals who have returned from conflict zones and interrogated them.
He said that a travel ban will be issued against anyone who is found to be involved in the aforementioned acts at any level. Some individuals have already been summoned to appear with their parents who were warned to watch over their children.
