MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain on Sunday said that it would take stern action against the violators of the Kingdom’s Citizenship Law.
“Bahrainis who took the nationality of another country, whether of their own volition or through others’ incitement, without securing prior permission from the relevant authorities or failed to formalise their status as per the provisions of the law, would be sued,” the Interior Ministry in a statement said.
The Interior Ministry warned that lawbreakers and instigators who violate the law provisions on citizenship and fail to follow proper procedures would be held accountable.
“This statement is a warning to all those who harm the vital interests of the Kingdom of Bahrain or act in a way that contravenes the duty of national allegiance”, the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs said.
