MANAMA: In line with directives of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organization (RCO), Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s second relief-aid consignment to Gaza has arrived in Marka Airport, Jordan, and to be transported by land to the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with UN Relief and works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and World Health Organisation (WHO).
RCO Chairman praised HM the King’s directives on providing aid for Palestinian people and standing by them in their plight. He stressed the support of Bahrain National Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People in Gaza for the Palestinians in Gaza and affirmed more initiatives to come.
He hailed the huge support delivered for the RCO by the government of Bahrain led by HRH Prime Minister, promotion provided by HRH Crown Prince, contribution of Bahraini people in assisting the Palestinian people, as well as the efforts of Bahrain Olympic Committee in delivering the relief and medicine consignments to Gaza.
RCO Sec-Gen, Mustafa Al-Sayed, underlined HM the King’s supportive programme for the Palestinian people that has been internationally recognized. He elaborated that the second consignment contains more than 40 tons of medicines, relief and food supplies that have been processed according to the needs of people in Gaza.
Representative of the Commissioner-General of UNRWA Ambassador Peter Ford, Director of UNRWA’s Health Department, Dr. Akihiro Saita, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Jordan, Nasser bin Rashid Al-Kaabi, Director of UNRWA’s Foreign Relations and Projects, Muneer Alias Minah, Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization’s delegation and a number of Arab and international news agencies were present upon the arrival of Bahrain’s relief-aid consignment in Jordan.
They lauded Bahrain’s leadership and government’s supportive stances toward the Palestinian people, and Bahrain’s development projects that have been established for the support of people in Gaza.
