Awali: The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) is currently conducting a 3-day Health and Safety Training Programme for the company’s Supervisors and Superintendents, which concludes on Thursday, August 28 2014.
The programme was conducted in line with Bapco’s Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) vision of enhancing staff safety principles and values, control of loss, accident prevention and investigation, health and safety meetings, personal protective equipment and occupational health. The activity also aimed to instill and spread knowledge and appreciation of loss prevention tools and safety management systems utilised in Bapco, in addition to enhancing employee know-how on the effective support of the company’s goal of achieving incident-free operations. The three-day workshop, which underlines the principle that safety is a Bapco value and not only a top priority, is being held in compliance with the requirements of health and safety standards applicable worldwide, and with the aim of bolstering and maintaining Bapco’s hard-earned reputation as a national and regional EHS champion.
The activity was opened by Bapco’s Acting Deputy Chief Executive, Khalid Ebrahim Al-Sabbagh, who conveyed to the trainees the support and encouragement of Bapco’s Management for enhancing the safety performance and spreading the safety culture throughout the organization and the society.
