ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan has demanded immediate resignation of the Prime Minister Mian Mohammed Nawaz Sharif followed by fresh polls in the country.
Imran Khan cricketer-turned-politician made these demands while addressing his thousands of supporters after reaching in Islamabad from Lahore. The three hours journey to federal capital from Lahore took over 40 hours for PTI rally to reach Islamabad during which Imran claimed three alleged attacks on his peaceful independence rally.
He renounced the Government of Premier Nawaz Sharif being a result of rigged polls and demanded electoral reforms and promised to end corruption if his party comes to power.
From today, the PTI Independence Rally after reaching Islamabad has turned into a sit in unless the Prime Minister tenders his resignation.
The rally was also addressed by Sheikh Rashid Ahmed head of his own Muslim League faction and sitting MNA who applauded the leadership of Imran Khan and thousands of rally participants. He also demanded resignation of the Prime Minister and his brother Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif and condemned both leaders for spearheading a systematic corruption system including introducing commission culture in running the day to day affairs of the government.
