ISLAMABAD: Following the killings of 17 innocent civilians and critically injuring 83 people on Sunday, the political uncertainty causes cracks in the Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif’s own party PML-N.
The Chief Organiser of PML-N Sindh Province Liaquat Jatoi resigned in protest of using excessive force by police on the orders of the PM and Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan.
The leaders of both protesting opposition parties Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf Imran Khan and Chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) were furious while addressing their supporters on Monday evening.
Imran Khan warned the police and the law enforcing agencies not to carry out unlawful orders of the Government.
“I warn all officials do not come in the way of the peaceful protesters as there has been no single incident of violence for the past 16 days but it was the police which had used brutal force and critically injuring may people,” Imran told the audience.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri told the ARY News Channel that PIMS Hospital has confirmed 13 deaths and 83 cases of critical injured. “Thirty people are in a very critical situation and we should pray for their well being,” he added.
Dr Qadri also blamed government for removing and hiding dead bodies to keep the nation in the dark.
