Manama: The Cabinet on Sunday reviewed the laws aiming to ensure transparency of the electoral process, and easy procedures that enable all the citizens to exercise their political rights in the best way, and requested the relevant sides to take all necessary constitutional and legal procedures.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired at the Gudaibiya Palace on Sunday, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, the regular weekly cabinet meeting.
The Secretary-General of Cabinet Dr. Yaser bin Essa Al-Nasser said that the Cabinet had extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on being granted an award by the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding (FFEU) in recognition of his landmark contributions to promoting meaningful dialogue among religions and cultures, affirming that during HM the King’s prosperous era, the kingdom has become a role model in enriching and consolidating the cultures of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and acceptance of followers of other faiths and cultures.
It also pledged that Bahrain would continue promoting its noble mission of fostering co-existence among religions and cultures.
The cabinet lauded HM the King’s policies and sound visions aiming to optimise the national action march and achievements through effective involvement of the “partners of the nation” and loyal citizens in mapping common grounds, voicing pride in HM King Hamad’s praise of the efforts of the government, led by HRH Premier, and full cooperation with all sides in order to preserve national gains, as he responded to a letter from HRH the Crown Prince.
The cabinet affirmed the government’s commitment to all the directives of HM King Hamad.
HRH the Prime Minister directed all ministries and government departments to ensure easy procedures for Bahraini pilgrims, and coordinate with the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments in this regard.
HRH Premier also issued instructions to remove all obstacles delaying the completion of government projects, especially the service ones, and do all what is necessary to finalise them according to schedule in order to meet the citizens’ aspirations, citing the service projects he launched during his recent visit to Muharraq.
HRH Premier stressed the need to give top priority to Bahraini contractors in government services, according to laws, emphasising that contractors have to abide by the terms of the tenders awarded to them.
The cabinet assigned the Executive Committee, chaired by HRH the Crown Prince, to study the issuance of a Unified System for the Acceptance of Donations and Grants at ministries and government departments, in light of a memo presented by the Interior Minister.
HRH Premier urged to expand areas of cooperation with Russia in the investment, trade and economic fields, and activate the agreements signed with it.
The cabinet discussed and endorsed a memo presented by the Minister of Education on a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Ministry of Education and the Boris Yeltsin’s presidential Library in the Federal Republic of Russia.
The cabinet also approved and referred to the Ministerial Committee for Social, Information, Transport and Communication a memo presented by the Minister of State for Information Affairs on the request to obtain a licence to establish a monthly magazine specialized in educational activities in the Kingdom , Dr. Yaser bin Essa Al-Nasser said.
