Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain announced major steps to revamp and enhance the level of services for power and water networks during the summer of 2014.
The Official Government Spokesperson and State Minister for Information Affairs Sameera Rajab told the post weekly meeting that the Cabinet reviewed the memorandum presented by the Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs on the measures that were taken to enhance the performance of electricity and water networks during the summer of 2014, and the positive outcomes that were achieved.
The Minister said that the measures taken in that regard were implement equipment maintenance programs for the electric grid; make available the option of taking advantage of the 600 megawatts, if necessary, through the GCC electric grid.
“Take all precautionary emergency measures in the departments concerned; provide specialized fault detection vehicles and provide and connect mobile generators during the outage and repair of malfunctions,” the Minister added.
