Kuwait: The GCC Oil Ministers discussed the possibility of unifying the prices of petroleum products in the GCC region.
Finance Minister and the Minister in Charge of Oil and Gas Affairs Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa took part in the Ministerial Meeting of the Petroleum Cooperation Committee.
The meeting discussed a number of issues on its agenda, including mainly the possibility of unifying the prices of petroleum products in the GCC region, the proposed bill of uniform executive regulation (code) of GCC mining, recommendations of GCC petroleum media and activation of cooperation between GCC national oil companies.
The meeting also reviewed the report of the GCC energy team, a report on follow-up of developments related to the United Nations convention on climate change, recommendations of the ad hoc team of energy services under the World Trade Organisation (WTO)’s frame and the meetings of the regional contingency plan committee for oil products in the GCC countries.
Preparations for the second GCC Petroleum Media Forum, to be held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on from March 22 to 24th, 2015, were also highlighted.
