Doha: Over 60% unsuccessful projects in the GCC blamed for the inadequate or non availability of human capital while 37% projects fail because of a lack of organisational support, notably in terms of human resources, according to an expert.
Doha: Dr. Shrair explained that most projects (60% of unsuccessful projects) and 37% of projects fail to succeed because of mediocre planning and management.
Dr. Laila Diab Shrair, who conducted GOIC workshop, introduced participants to basic project management concepts and tools, project life cycle, risk management, reasons behind project failures and key roles and responsibilities of project managers. In addition, participants got acquainted with practical means of assistance and pre-set forms aiming at helping them implement a good project management program.
The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) concluded the Project Management Programme training held at the Organization’s headquarters in Doha from the 22ndtill the 25th of September 2014.
The workshop was attended by project managers, researchers, planners, relevant administrations staff and project coordinators, notably from the industrial sector in various Gulf countries and included theoretical and practical training.
GOIC Secretary General Abdulaziz Bin Hamad Al-Ageel presented certificates to the participants and stressed the importance of such trainings in terms of boosting project successes.
He reiterated GOIC’s commitment to supporting GCC industrial sector and the Organization’s constant endeavours to improve industrial staff’s performance.
