Manama: Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr Hassan Abdullah Fakhro has valued major efforts of investors and importers in the food sector, in addition to specialised companies such as Bahrain Livestock Company and Delmon Poultry Company in providing the required food products for the public for reasonable and stable prices.
This came as he chaired the 4th meeting of the Price Control Committee in the presence of concerned officials from government and private sectors and a number of businessmen and importers.
The meeting discussed the preparations of government meat and poultry companies for Eid Al Adha and Ashoora seasons, in which Jihad Ameen from Bahrain Livestock Company highlighted that there is a stock of 30,000 heads of Australian sheep and 50,000 more are expected to come within the current month. He highlighted that 12,000 heads of Somali sheep will be imported for Eid Al Adha.
