Manama: Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, Tamkeen Chairman of the board of directors on Tuesday urged the private sector to benefit from the revamped enterprise support programme.
However, he said, the age of easy money under the enterprise support programme is over.
“Enterprises are expected to provide information related to their current business activities and operations, as well as their business development plans, so that Tamkeen can diagnose and serve enterprises in a manner that addresses their business needs,” Shaikh Mohammed, said.
Shaikh Mohammed, who was joined by Vice Chairman Tamkeen Khalid Amin, told media roundtable that the new initiative aims at making sure the utilization of funds in strict adherence to transparent and result-oriented way.
“We have learnt from the feedback of Tamkeen customers, from the past mistakes and the observations of the National Audit Court and we have come up with very different approach,” Shaikh Mohammed said.
“Under the new project, prospective beneficiaries will see much easier to get financial support but they have to deliver,” he said.
“We want to see the industry to flourish in Bahrain and Tamkeen is happy to be a partner in this endeavour.”
It may be noted that Tamkeen had halted the disbursement of funds in February this year.
