Manama: Music icon Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the famous Pakistani music icon whose Sufi and qawwali music and Bollywood hits unite music lovers all over the world, will perform at Bahrain International Exhibition Centre on October 17th, 2014.
Addressing a packed press conference which was held at Pan Asia Restaurant via teleconference from Lahore in Pakistan, Rahat promised fans in Bahrain a memorable concert that will use the powers of music to promote harmony and peace.
“I am excited about my performance in Bahrain and have been receiving messages from my fans in the Kingdom and in the neighbouring GCC countries – I promise to deliver a concert that will not only be full of melody but also bring together music-lovers in the spirit of harmony and peace.”
The legendary musician even crooned the opening bars of his hit song “Tere Mast Mast Do Nain” as a glimpse of things to come.
The concert is sponsored by Huawei and tickets are priced at BD 250 for the VIP Royal Tickets, BD 100 for the VIP Tickets, BD 50 for Gold, BD 25 for Silver and BD 15 for bronze tickets. The tickets are available from 27th September 2014 at Mumbai Spices in Bahrain Mall, Al Wasmiya Restaurant in Manama and D9 restaurant in Riffa.
The formal ticket launching ceremony presided over Maqsood Shah, Community Welfare Attache at Pakistan embassy and Mrs. Mala Kumar, wife of the Indian Ambassador in the presence of title Sponsor Huwawei representative Derek Du, Director – Bahrain Office Device Business Department.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan also expressed his regret at the passing away of key organizer Savio Samanna and said he was deeply touched that Samanna’s friends, led by event organizers Sarva Velumuri had decided to make this a tribute show for their friend. He also added that he would make every effort to give his fans a truly amazing musical journey.
Maqsood Shah called the event a momentous and historic concert which would see the coming together of all communities who are familiar with the genius of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s music.
“Cultural icons like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan belong to the world and we are very happy that he will be performing in Bahrain,” he said.
Launching the tickets, Mrs. Kumar said the concert would be the highlight of Bahrain’s busy cultural scene.
