Manama: The King Faisal Corniche in Manama will get a major development face-lift as the Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the project.
The BD19million development scheme follows directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to implement the projects featuring on the Government’s work-plan including beachfronts.
“The King Faisal Corniche will be turned into a modern beachfront attracting investment and trade activities”, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Dr. Jumaa bin Ahmed Al-Kaabi, said.
He paid tribute to HRH the Premier and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier for their keenness on upgrading beachfronts and carrying out municipal development projects.
The Ministry has already developed the beachfronts located in Abu Sobh, Al-Ghous Coast, Al-Malkiya, Al-Dour, Arad, Khalifa Al-Kabeer Corniche, Arad Fort and other coastline locations.
Al-Fateh Corniche, Sitra Corniche, Tubli Bay, Zallaq Coast, Barbar Coast, Juffair, Askar, Northern Highway, Al-Dair, Samaheej and Qalali coasts will also undergo a major facelift.
